Federal Government Reimbursement

 

Qualified federal employees can receive agency reimbursement of up to 50% (or $150) towards their Federal Employee Professional Liability Insurance (FEPLI) premium. 

Here's how to get reimbursed if you qualify: 

1. Get your Certificate of Insurance and receipt showing proof of payment in full

2. Ask your Human Resources Office how they accept reimbursement filings

3. Submit your reimbursement request and accompanying documents

4. Get money back for protecting your career

    Exclusions

    Exclusions for professional liability insurance for current federal employees include:

    • Any obligation for which the member or any carrier as his insurer may be held liable under any workers' compensation, unemployment compensation, disability benefits law, or other similar law.
    • Damage arising out of willful violation of a penal statute or penal ordinance committed by or with the knowledge or consent of the member, or damages arising out of acts of fraud committed by or actual intent to deceive or defraud.
    • The liability assumed by the member under any contract or agreement.
    • Bodily injury arising out of the ownership, operation, or the use of any land motor vehicle designed for use principally on public highways, including any apparatus attached thereto, or any aircraft or watercraft.
    • Damage to property owned, occupied by, or rented to the United States Government or member, property used by the member, property in the care or control of the member, or as to which the member is for any purpose exercising physical contact (not applicable to property or persons in custody or property under lawful control.
    • Any liability for hazardous substances, including asbestos
    • Bodily injury or property damage resulting from accidents caused by nuclear materials.

    Exclusions for federal contractors/former federal employees include:

    • Bodily injury or property damage
    • Infringement of copyright;
    • Infringement of trademark, trade name, trade dress, service mark, service name, title, or slogan;
    • Infringement of patent;
    • Unfair competition, restraint of trade, or any other violation of antitrust laws;
    • Unlawful discrimination, harassment or retaliation including that based on race, creed, color, religion, national origin, age, disability, sex, marital status, or sexual orientation;
    • Gain, profit or advantage to which an insured is not legally entitled; and
    • Other exclusions may apply.
