  • Liability Limit: Total funds allocated for liability payments owed in civil lawsuits.
  • Lawsuit: Brought against you by an external party.
  • Defense coverage limit: Total funds allocated for payment of your legal defense team.
  • Administrative defense: For investigations or actions brought by the federal government.
  • Criminal defense: For investigations related to charges of criminal misconduct.**

136 Month Extended Reporting Period is available to Policyholders who retire with an active FEPLI plan. Policyholder must report their exact date of retirement while still actively employed, and maintain their FEPLI coverage through that date.

*Section 642 of Public Law 106-58 requires Federal agencies reimburse qualified Federal employees, including law enforcement officers, supervisors, and managers for up to one-half of the cost of professional liability insurance.
